Ballad
Ballad
If I should tread
For a thousand years
Without a single rest
Then the fortunes of my labours
Shall all but be known
To stand the test
My valour be determined
By what so ever
That fate was planned
Will my favour
Be carried land to land
They talk much of my travels
On many distant shores
Say much unto my name
That which are made of songs
Have never been heard before
Such as this is my legacy
That I remain forever aloof
But they who are wise
Always knew
That I was not a fool
Such as this my vengence
That I look upon icy glares
And not shed is my sword
For patiently
I seek my reward
They all know of theirs
And while they speak my name
Know me they do not
As soon as they learn of it
so soon is it forgot
Forever is a mystery
Around the world will turn
Lifes weary traveller am I
Maybe in a thousand years
They will all learn
Be not fooled by my tears
For not weak am I
I still ask many questions
For their answers
I will seek
When emotion has me
Tears unshed in my eyes
It is but a reflection
Of the fire
That I feel inside
This I cannot deny
For not weak am I
do not think it so
For as I have gone on
I will always try
Being my inspiration
You are always there for me
I will hold in my heart
Oh so dearly
My friend and my ally
My distant company
